Swords has experienced localized power interruptions previously. A July 2026 outage affected residents across several parts of Swords and nearby Malahide before electricity was restored.
Residents Check Power Status
People experiencing an outage can use ESB Networks’ PowerCheck service to determine whether a fault has already been identified. Planned interruptions are also displayed through the service, with ESB saying customers are generally notified in advance of scheduled work.
Safety Advice During Outages
Residents should avoid touching fallen electricity cables and should treat damaged wires as live. ESB Networks advises customers to contact its emergency and loss-of-supply service if they experience an outage or encounter dangerous electrical infrastructure.
More Updates Expected
The situation remains subject to change as further reports become available. Residents in Swords should rely on ESB Networks for confirmed information about active faults and estimated restoration times.
